One thing that is great to do when staying at the lodge is a Champagne Lunch. You decide how far you want to trek. We then set up the gazebo at the end of your walk through the heather forest and over the escarpment. You arrive to find a well laid out table, white table cloth and all the trimmings. We usually provide some delicacies which are not available outside of Addis such as foie gras or smoked salmon. The champagne flows and you can spend the next few hours having a fantastic meal at the highest place in the world that you are ever likely to have such a meal. You will be near to 3500 metres high.

Watching the Lamergayer (many think that it is an eagle, but it is in fact a vulture). The lamergayer, nicknamed the bone crusher, is the last scavenger. It takes remaining bones and drops them on to rocks to break them and extract the marrow.
